Hi all, For those of you who are interest in our new grand piano action, our local paper ran a story (with a picture of the action model shown at half blow) recently. The text wasn't too accurate since they didn't even interview us (It was interesting to learn that pianos haven't changed since 1812 - must have been a dull lot of tech's over the last two centuries). Nonetheless, the image turned out quite OK (was taken with a Nikon professional digital camera). I thought some of you might be interested in seeing it, since you can see that the jack/knuckle contact and the capstan/wippen heel contact is on the line of centres at half blow. You will also notice that this model has only one 1/2" key lead. The hammer is a full size 12g bass hammer. This model has 53g DW with 43g UW. The assist spring pressure is set at 18g, measured at the face of the jack. The article is now on our website and can be found at; http://www.overspianos.com.au/crir.html Sorry I haven't been contributing to the recent list discussions. We've a lot to do here to getting piano no. 003 built for Reno. This week is bridge notching and sound board installation.
