All metal corrodes, even brand new pins can have INVISIBLE corrosion that can
drastically effect friction, performance and stickiness.

Yes, Protek will diminish said friction, somewhat, but to get it off and truly
reduce friction the pins must, I repeat MUST, be polished with a super fine
metal polish.  I have long used and still prefer Flitz, available from several
supply houses.

This is not an issue of, well maybe I'll do it, this is an issue of I _must_ do
it to every piano I regulate and some I "just" service.

Performance comes from the details.
