Since Roger is a piano dealer (in a respectable building, mind you!), very likely he WAS talking about peddling (I notice that he used the word "pedal" correctly elsewhere in the post) and half peddling is just a vernacular for a laissez faire approach to selling. I'm sure he'll back me up on this. ;-) Yes, sometimes I wish people would pay more attention to spelling, too, but I figure as long as I can understand what a person is saying, this is the important thing and there are a lot more serious ills in this world to cure than that. In fact, since I have so many friends who are from India, I've taken to enjoying their creative use of English. Recently, an acquaintance was remarking that an event was now going to take place early than originally planned, and the word he used was "preponed". No language barrier here. If _we_ have trouble with spelling, you can imagine the task of a foreigner. Language is not a high priority for everyone, so I try to keep my "peddling" criticisms to myself. Tom Cole
