Another "tradition" which should be dismissed...

    Jon, I agree with the thought of doing away with the slotted screws on
the whips, but do and I both know that they aren't going to do that anytime
soon, and even if they did, there will still be millions of pianos out there
which have 'em. To ease your frustration with these things, I strongly
suggest that you get one of the "Double Grand Drop Screwdrivers" from
Pianotek- part JDD-3. I did, and it's one of those tools that I wouldn't be
without. Fits right over those drop screws and Baldwin rep-spring screws and
won't slip off.
    I've had mine for a couple years now, probably last a life time. Hope
