Hi John,

A spokeshave is my tool of choice for the inner
curve.  A sharp chisel will work but it'll take a
while.  So will a file, but it'll take a while.

You said you tried your palm sander.  I hadn't
tried that one.  But I have used the belt sander
on occasion and if you're careful, it will work
just fine.  (It's quick too!)

For the outer curve, I normally just use my
little block plane.  (Ace Hardware, about $5.  It
works!... after you sharpen it!!)
