Hi Wim, Oh, but it does show that the plate _compresses_, quite nicely, but you really have to have good measurements before and after, plot the differences and stare at it a few seconds until you realize, ..., I never thought that it would work. Changing the tension on a piano does indeed compress or decompress the plate struts. Seeing the graph is the clincher. Try it, you'll like, just like Mikie. Be well and have a good weekend. Newton
