A tip I gleaned out of a long ago Journal was to modify a wall clock (or any electric, analog clock) by interrupting the battery or AC power line with a switch. Set the clock to 12:00, run the clock each time you're working on a task and it will indicate the total elapsed time. The person who thought this up probably had an old clock he would have otherwise thrown out and a spare switch, so the cost was nil. I don't know why a cheap stop watch wouldn't work just as well, though. Tom Cole
