piano wire

Question: Where do you get unscented talc? You gotta admit the baby powder
smells good. If the scent is so problematic, why don't the babies complain?
I've thought that those that caution about additives just have to find
something to criticize. Like the environmentalists who can find something
wrong with everything.

The glove seems to last okay. I don't use them often, but they are great
when refinishing as I put them on and a heavy rubber glove over them. They
serve as a heat insulator so I can dip a pad of steel wool in a solution of
very hot water with TSP(I'm in trouble with the environmental gurus now) or
ammonia or some other type of detergent when I'm stripping varnish or
lacquer off a piano. After using paint remover to get all the finish off,
I put a wet coat of remover on and immediately scour it off with the steel
wool. If the water is really hot the surface foams and the stain just seems
to boil right out. Then rinse with cold water or wipe with a terry cloth
towel and it will dry in 20-30 minutes. I'm giving my refinishing secrets
away. Go for it. I like refinishing but it takes so much more room than I
have available and I don't want to fight the EPA.
