Hi Lance,

Just a thought in passing...

The main refinishing guy at a local store has been messing around with a lot
of variations.  There are a lot of different ways to finish a plate.

One that he was experimenting with last I checked was something similar to
automotive basecoat / clearcoat.

Might be worth looking into if you're interested.  Probably the hardest part
would be getting a sample of the finish you want to their spectrometer (is
that what it's called? the little thingy that "sees" the color of a sample
and develops a mix to match?)  Basecoat / clearcoat isn't cheap, but it's
hard to beat the availability of the auto parts store.

Just a thought.
