Tim, Drop is only part of your aftertouch problem. Yamaha has a great regulation checklist for both grands and verticals . Tech services can help you get one. As for general causes for insufficient aftertouch look for excessive blow distance and or shallow key dip. As for drop adjustment , if the drop screw is too high it will interfere with lettoff. The general rule taught to me is that letoff@1/16 '' than drop another 1/16'' below that in tenor /treble , and increasing to 1/8''lettoff and 1/8'' drop as you progress to the low bass . If the lettoff is too close in the bass you will get blocking hammers on repetitive blows. Again the yamaha tech team can get you going in the correct direction.
