Dale; Lead is a naturally occuring metallic compound and is not toxic in the same way that dioxin, DDT, some older paints, etc, etc. is. Recycle it if you think that is best, or drop it off at your local hazardous materials collection point, or throw it in the trash. All three of these options are acceptable in any environmental scenario when we are speaking of solids such as key weights. My view. JIm Bryant (FL)
