I am not sure of the crown in the keybed, but I do know that a K&B key frame 
is very flexible. Why I don't know. I always assumed it was a poorly designed 
key frame. But perhaps it is made that way on purpose. When leveling keys, 
don't we want a 1/16" crown in the middle? Perhaps what K&B did was put that 
crown in the keybed, and made the frame flexible to allow it to conform to 
the bed, without putting tension on the frame.
