Database Suggestions?

For years I have used Filemaker for the Mac, but will soon convert to Windows.

Can anyone suggest a good database program that they use and find 
particularly useful? ( like FoxPro, dBase,  whatever - I do not know what is 
out there. )

Just something that wil handle client information, etc.
