Windows 2000 is NT 5.0 and will not run many windows or DOS programs. Installed on a clean hard drive it is incredibly stable and fast. I have it and have played with it but I haven't moved to it, yet. Program installation and data transfer will take a goodly amount of time and no guarantee that older windows programs will install in 2000.
