hammers clacking

Whatever the source of  Warren's clacking hammers, it's a fact that
Kawai's are (or were, at least) prone to loose catcher shanks at both
ends. Jim Harvey speculated that this was due to glue-starved joints,
the result of a very tight fitting tolerance. Wood glue hasn't work very
well for me. I switched to PVC-E several years ago and haven't had any
problem with it.
