Hello, Pat, This link worked better: <http://www.directcon.net/astokes/pianos/pics.htm> We have a Gildemeester & Kroeger grand. It has an interesting action which corresponds to US424202, and 520989 by Herrburger; although this has been hacked by a previous, er, impatient technician, it seems to work at least so well as a more ordinary grand action. I haven't seen it for a while, and it was set up only briefly. The finish is a dull black, without a trace of veneer. As I recall it seemed closely modelled after a more famous NY manufacturer, dampers stopped sooner than I would prefer and the stringing scale was not spectacular. Collapsed sound board, but a big, solid structure. There is a picture of one in N.E. Michel's book. Clark
