I feel your pain. Can't say I've ever done this but here's a solution. Take a paper pattern of the bridge and hitch pins. Then take a paper pattern of the agraffes. Now measure very carefully the speaking length of first and last note. Now position the two patterns according to the speaking length and tape them securely. You now have a pattern under the dampers w/o taking them off. Carl Meyer Assoc.
