Steinway hammer alignment

Hello,

The shim is only for correct for the felt wear normally.

But you have a little margin left if you wish, before there is a problem
with the dampers.

I wonder, on a Steinway with badly worn (hard) hammers, if some kind of gain
could be obtained shaping the hammers, and letting them go to the left
enough to have a more healthy felt under the strings (never have the
opportunity to do that).
