Dale,
I buy in LARGE quantities from Milligan & Higgins, P.O.Box 506, Maple
Avenue, Johnstown, NY, 12095; (518) 762-4638.
If you're only needing a few pounds a month/year/?, then I'll be glad to
sell you some @ $5.50 per lb. + shipping. I also have a blended hide glue
that I call "Jose's Hide", it takes a long time to "cook" for the right
consistancy, but is less brittle and less apt to fracture like regular hide
glues often do with hammer jobs. It sells for $6.50 per lb.
I should say that the 3XChrome is only going to be available until the
factory supply is exhausted. The word "Chrome" says why. (Dern EPA!)
If you chose to get a barrel, for your own, and plan to distribute to your
Chapter, etc., it's a bit pricey at first, but due to the quality, is well
worth it. As an aside, Schaff used to carry a similar product, but
discontinued it because it wasn't available for quite a while, due to the
new "technology" in "Jello" products. (probably too much info there<G>).
Regards,
Joe Garrett, RPT, (Oregon)
