What has worked well for me for a long time is to hold the keys in one hand while I close the door with the other. The spare keys are in my office. Well, it worked until one time, I was in New York driving a rented car and stopped in a shopping center parking lot engaged in a conversation with a friend. The key alarm was going "ding... ding... ding..." as I locked and closed the door. After going about two steps I realized my mistake and my passenger couldn't resist chiding me with, "What is there about 'ding... ding... ding...' that you don't understand?" My cell phone and a AAA card had us rescued in 15 minutes. I like the new cars with the remote door locks. Tom Cole Mark Story wrote: > > Yesterday was one of those days.
