That is, a bridge that is 40 mm wide and 30 mm high will have exactly the same mass as a bridge that is 30 mm wide and 40 mm high. The latter will be much stiffer in the vertical plane, of course (assuming a grand piano configuration). (OK, the wide, low bridge might have a bit more wood removed at the notches and thereby loose just a bit of mass to the narrow, tall bridge. Let's not nit-pick.) Del
