Ed, I think I cracked the nut... In order to play a note " off of the rep lever", the rep lever must drop down some distance, however slight, below the drop screw, so as to have some effect on lifting the knuckle, when the key again fired. When that happens, that is, when the rep lever come up to full position, and off of the drop screw, the jack slips back under the knuckle. There doesn't seem to be any way, that the rep lever, while still contacting the drop screw, can exert enough force on the knuckle. I am using a hand model without a backcheck to test this. Dan
