    Les, I had exactly the same thing happen on an new UST-8.  Looking
closely, I found a mismatch between each bichord wire.  The wrappings were
of different lengths and therefore unisons would never tune properly.  When
notified, Kawai admitted their production mistake (sort of) and sent six new
strings.  They worked fine.  Maybe the same problems exists in your piano.
