I just wanted to re-enforce what Diane mentioned about the Piano Studio sign
on 19th; I know exactly where that sign is located. But it should also be
mentioned that here in San Francisco colors and shapes of building tend to
be very inventive. Even amongst all that craziness, that small sign is very
obvious. So there is something to be said for small and simple.

If your zoning laws will permit, you may want to consider a very
conservative sign that will not stick out; I would agree with Delwin in that
you might not want to draw too much attention to yourself in a residential
neighborhood. If you choose a sign that is too obvious, the surrounding
neighborhood could claim that your sign is "driving down the prices of their
homes."
