finishing equipment

Several others eluded to this, but for the record: HVLP guns come in two varieties - conversion guns and turbine guns. The turbine guns run off a turbine (makes sense!). The conversion guns run off an air compressor. I'm really not sure what the advantage of either one might be. I do know that the turbines tend to make the air flow warm. That can be good or bad. Some say good because it gently warms the material being sprayed and helps it flow out. In other situations it may make the finish dry too quickly and hence prevent proper flow-out. Perhaps it is a good thing in cool climates where warming the spray material slightly might be advantageous. Maybe not so good in a warm climate where it could make quick-dry conditions worse.
