Blocking hammers

All,

Before you call Phil Glenn about the action brackets, you need to measure
the hole spacing on the inner two brackets since two different sizes were
used. One has hole spacing over 6" and the other has hole spacing under 6".
The outer brackets are all the same..

I typically allow about 5 labor hours for this job. If all goes well, and
the action hasn't been drastically "re-regulated", the time is shorter.

Hope this helps. BTW, this is the kind of thing that comes up in classes
and during between-class discussion at the Institute. Make your plans now
and we'll see you in Chicago so you can all be prepared for these kind of
things when you see them the first time.

I just encountered this problem not long ago and have a "regulating appt."
scheduled next month. I think I'll get the serial and call Y.C. first. By
the way, how long has this job of changing brackets take? Are we talking a
few hours?
