More dip in bass

He said:

"Personally I'd rather compromise the hammer blow and leave the dip
consistently the same top to bottom."

I take this to mean use the key capstans to change the hammer to
string distance so as to give enough after-touch rather than altering
the key dip which would require adding or removing punchings under the
keys which is a lot more work to do (especially in a grand) than just
turning the capstan screw.

Comprende?
