I don't wear safety glasses, per se, but I do wear full reading glasses. I am
at that age where I need reading glasses. I usually use the half size, as you
have seen many "older" folks wear. But when I am on the computer, and when I
work on the bench, I wear full size glasses. I wear the same kind when I'm
stringing. I have never been hit in the eye directly, but I have had a string
catch me just below the eye, and punctured the skin. I believe Bob Mishkin
was hit in the eye once.

By all means, wear something over your eye, as well as over (or in) your
ears, when stringing.
