Unison Flatter than each Individual string?

>So you don't upgrade your shop tools, etc?

Sure I do. And when I have a large number of repetitive operations to do in
the shop, I build jigs to do the thinking for me and keep the uniformity of
the result as high as I can. Then I just mind the needs of the jig during
the process. The results are more uniform, hopefully faster cycle time,
with considerably less demand on me to produce those results. It also makes
it a lot less interesting. The fun is in designing and building the jig.

Interesting point to pick out from that paragraph.

Ah, but the personal decision of what is wasted energy and what is
necessary is precisely the point.

Absolutely. I wouldn't give up my jigs without a fight. I'm a better
producer of tedious repetitive task results because of them.
