Dear jfreel88,

We may be able to help....

I think we still have an action from a Kimball upright of about that age =
up in the storeroom. The piano it came from (it's been torn down years =
ago) was about 56" tall and was an ex-player. The casework of this piano =
was identical to that of their conventional upright--that is, the =
overall size of the piano was no larger than Kimball's conventional =
piano--and the action configuration was similar, if not identical.=20

Give me the following information and I'll try to determine if the =
action I have (assuming I still have it!) will fit:
-- The overall height of the action brackets from the lower foot or =
ball up to the action bracket bolt.=20
-- The number of unisons in each section.
-- The scale stick measurements--that is the distance from A-1 to =
the last hammer of the bass section, from there to the first hammer of =
the tenor, from there to the last hammer of the tenor, etc. These =
measurements should be chained.

  Hello from Sunny Florida,
I just finished tuning a Baldwin Howard spinet today. The customer =
has a beautiful Kimball upright in a restored oak case. She had a tuner =
from out of town take her action & her money to repair in shop. The =
tuner called & told her the story that his car was stolen with the =
action in it. This was several years ago. She is heartbroken and =
wanted to see if we could find a kimball 1913 upright action that would =
work? please e-mail any helpfull info.
