I never felt that flexation was a problem.  But now that I've experienced a 
clearly more rigid tool I recognize that there was some flexing going on with 
my old lever.  (which was an extension hammer, BTW)

Perhaps as suggested titanium is NOT more rigid, but the design of this lever 
is such that the metal is basically a cone shape, so that it gets wider as it 
gets to the wooden handle.  Maybe that's why it's more rigid than my old 
lever--it's actually thicker. (but lighter!)
