One Good Condemnation

Went to tune a piano the other day - new client (or at least no record of tuning). While walking up to home, I thought: "Oh, no. I'm sure this is going to be a goof-up, because I know I was here just a month or so ago." Rang bell and I asked if I was just here. She replied "oh, you just looked at our old upright and said it had some problems, bla, bla, bla." I don't really remember the details of the old timer, but I do remember a general wreck, and recommended that she could get a lot more piano for less money by replacement. She showed me their new piano - 1990 Baldwin Acrosonic console, like new condition. She found it locally out of the paper for $1,000. She has three kids that are all taking lessons, as is she. Not exactly my piano dream come true, but certainly about 3,000 times the piano that it replaced. I sure felt good about helping her make that change.

So I wonder when I will get the call from a new client that picked up this wonderful old upright for free........... Maybe after they refinish it...............

P.S. Now please save the old upright bashing retorts. I love 'em, and I appreciate what everyone had to say in their defense last time. Her old piano was rrrrreeeeeeeaaaaaaalllllllyyyyy worn out.
