soundboard finish

I'm close to installing my first board. My intended order of operation will be to complete the board with bridge before any refinishing. When ready to install board, place in piano and make light pencil line at inside edge of rim on soundboard bottom. Remove board. Tape off outside edge of soundboard bottom. Finish soundboard bottom and let dry. Install soundboard. Finish top of board.

But that might just be my prescription for disaster! (I hope not.)
