And, like pianos, what's considered ideal? Flamenco guitarists like the
loud percussive sound with very short sustain that would send us scrambling
for a new soundboard.

Ah, more interactive science! Do you have Jim's address? If you left the
springs in and whacked the car with the removed shocks, you'd get better
sustain.
