I bought cool new lap top about two months ago loaded with XP. It took me a while to learn my way around it and figure out all the new features. Here is a great little hint with big results: Right click on the desk top and go into "properties" and then select the "appearance" tab. Change the settings where it says "windows and buttons" to "classic windows". Next, from the start button go into settings and then "task bar and start menu". Click on the "start menu" tab. Select the option for "classic windows style". Finally, in each of your individual folders that you regularly use, click on "tools" on the menu bar and then "folder options". Under tasks select "windows classic folders". By making these changes the whole system will now look and for the most part behave like the old windows operating system, (i.e. win 98). These are cosmetic changes ONLY, the enhancements of the new XP will still be there. This helps a lot in feeling more comfortable with it. As you go along in your everyday use you will discover new XP features as you work rather than having to adjust to a whole new world right off the bat. You can change the settings back later if you wish. Happy XP-ing!
