  Hello Dick,=20

  Dick, do yourself a favor, the piano a favor, the owner a favor and =
future technicians a favor with the following procedure.=20

  Unscrew the damper wires from the underlevers.=20

  Beef up the underlevers at the top where the wires go in with thin CA =
glue.=20

  Bore the damper wire holes slightly larger.=20

  Drill a hole in front of the underlevers, then install a set screw, =
(upright damper block set screw).=20

  Install damper wires, setting them in the normal fashion, then tighten =
set screw.=20

      Question on this method. Do you need to install a collar in the =
damper lever to accept the screw, or is the screw threaded into the wood =
directly ?
       Thanks as always,
      Tom Driscoll
