Painted String Rendering

Well, I guess I'm just not so much of an expert on string angles through the
agraffe up and to the pin. After the agraffe, the string rides along a curve
of understring felt and then to the pins. It is a bit of an angle, but does
not strike me as being unusual (I think!).

Sounds to me from Newtons comments and my observations that a combination of
60 year old bent string, rust, paint, a tad of an angle have all conspired
to indicate that it is simply time to restring and nothing short of that is
going to be a proper fix.
