Tuning Pin Sizes

All,
Throughout all the discussion about tuning pins, no one has asked how many
sizes of pins there are/were. To clarify, there are many sizes: #2: .260" ;
#1: .265" ; 1/2 /0: 276" : 1/0: .276" ; 2/0: .282" ; 3/0: .286" ; 4/0: .291"
; 5/0: .296" ; 6/0: .301 ; 7/0: .306" (no longer available)(thank god!).
I have a square grand that was re-strung with what I would have to call an
8/0 pin. That one is a real bear to tune, as the "antique" tuning tip that I
have, (marked #4), just barely will fit! (FYI the olde #4 tip was much
larger than the current #4).
O.K., now you all have the necessary ammunition to discuss pins. Please use
the proper nomenclature, as I have seen a few posts calling #1/0 pins as #1
pins. Most confusing.
