Karen--I'd still suspect something other than the soundboard itself. The
spider is easy to check and if you will then at least you can eliminate it
from consideration. All that's required is to wrenches and a bit of initial
muscle to breaf the nut to nut friction loose. I believe the threads are left
handed . After the nuts are free push and pull on the rods and check for
slight movement. Even if negligable simply tighten the long nut which holds
the rods of the spider together just to make sure it's snug. All that's
required is that each arm is snug > NO hurculean tightening needed. This is
not difficult nor should it be scary or any such thing.
Something is adding to the resonance of this note you are having problems
with and it's most likely not the soundboard. But My suggestion is that any
reputable rebuilder backs their work so Why is it your problem to rectify and
not his?
Squawk a little louder please!!! Just my humble opinion.
           Regards------------Dale Erwin
