Feeling the Hammers when playing

It occurs to me that in a Viennese action piano, the hammer IS coupled to the
key at the moment of impact - you do get a very vivid feel while playing. 
Maybe that's one of the reasons they made Viennese action pianos all the way up
to WW I.
