I agree, it is hard to picture standing behind an upright to tune it. But what is REALLY hard to imagine is standing behind a grand to tune it! What is going on here???

I have learned to do thesame thing as it much better for your back when tuning uprights and withtuning grands it gives you an easier position because we need to tune agrand with the tuning hammer in the direction of the tail.friendly greetingsfromAntares,Amsterdam, Holland"where music is, no harm can be"visit my website at : http://www.concertpianoservice.nl/

And other people stand????? Yikes! No wonder folks hurt theirbacks when tuning a square. I sit! I site for every D@mn piano I tune -including squares. Standing over a square? Oh, my gosh, I can feel my backhurting just thinking about tuning the very first note! Why on earth do folksstand?Terry Farrell----- Original Message -----From: "Phil Bondi" <tito@philbondi.com>To: <pianotech@ptg.org>Sent: Saturday, June 29, 2002 7:41 AMSubject: Re: Chickoring Square Grand tuning
