Hammer Butt Return Springs

Remember, the jack spring will only affect touch during and after letoff. Have you evaluated the role the hammer butt spring and/or the damper springs may be playing in your heavy touchweight? The hammer springs will affect the touch throughout then entire key stroke, the damper spring will affect it for the second half of the key stroke (or there abouts, depending on regulation of damper system), and the jack spring only at the end of the keystroke.

I have found hammer butt and damper springs too tight, but have not run across jack springs that affected touchweight significantly (but that may just be my limited experience showing).
