Lowell Wakker (802 438 5279 or ldwakker@aol.com ) has some good plans =
available for making piano moving equipment. $ 20 for the plans =
which include dolly, skidboard, tilting cam, lifting belt, dummy leg, =
organ dolly modification, pry dolly, and a couple of winching set ups.

I would however recommend that you buy some professional gear as well =
as making your own. New Haven Moving makes great skidboards and dollies. =
Their fixed wheel piano dollies are the safest way I have found to move =
pianos (after 20years). I had them make me one custom (only 6" high =
instead of 8") so that my rental c-7 would fit into my trailer. Moving =
gear is available from Schaff et al. but I've found that the New Haven =
stuff is superior. Jansen too!

My first question to this list..if it works...:) Surely, I can use =
the backposts and etc.. wood parts from ex-pianos to build a dolly and =
grand skid or three!!.. Someone must have plans! I'm a fairly new =
associate ptg., Was at chicago and met a few of you on this list and =
that was really cool!! I do brass and woodwind repair for a living and =
have been gradually learning more about pianos... Anyhoo.....what I'm =
after is a schematic or plan for a 4 wheel dolly and small grand piano =
skid for moving pianos. I already have a couple of condemned =
"mercy-removals" scheduled and would rather re-cycle wood I have and =
possibly build a better skid... if someone will share! =
