Lighter or Heavier ?

You have the potential to duplicate action touchweight characteristics accurately and predictably by using Stanwood's methods/concepts. This is one of the benefits of employing Stanwood's ideas. I should think one could take two Bechstein's of the same model, do the component touchweight balancing in the same way, correct whatever geometry needed correcting, and have two actions that are identical. I suspect that you will never be able to apply the component touchweight techniques to a Bosendorfer concert grand and a 5' 2" Kawaii micro-grand, and expect them to feel exactly the same - although, you could probably come pretty close - close enough that a pianist who is happy with the Kawaii could feel comfortable with the Bozy.
