Hi Terry. I think Stephane perhaps is relating a different kind of exactingness then what we think of in relation to Yamaha. Hand fitted pianos have their kind of "uppermost defanding specifications" as well. They just dont lead to one action on one piano being interchangeable (or nearly so) with another piano. The difference may be seen for example when comparing the hand fit Steinway with the hand fit Petrof. I am sure just about anyone would aggree by and large that the Steinway conforms to a much more demanding and high level of standard. As far as the other way of looking at "exacting specifications" is concerned. Like it or not there are large numbers of folks out there that prefer the former over the later. Cheers !
