Failing that (or I suppose you could install new flanges instead), you 
could consider reaming and repinning as an option -- but that's not a 
cure. It is quite likely that the verdigris will reappear eventually, 
though just how soon is anybody's guess. But as long as you don't sell 
it to an unsuspecting soul (you *are* planning on keeping this beauty 
for life, aren't you?), you could view it as an experiment, and check 
whether the verdigris emerges sooner than later.
