I remember when I worked for a piano rental company and we had our Hamburg D on the stage at the Opera House in SF. Horowitz was trying out the house Steinway, I believe, but it might have been his own...Roy Foreman was the SF Symphony technician at the time...I was peaking through a stage hole and Horowitz went over to our Hamburg and played a bit and really stuck his nose up afterwards.
