When a person calls upon one of us to tune their piano, their only concern is for the piano to sound better. When a tuner crafts a tuning, science and art come into play. Sometimes the artful hand is what makes the piano sonorous. Those of us who have dared break the Golden Rule have realized that a lot of pianos sound better with a tuning scheme other than ET. ET is edgy and harsh for many pianos. If you ask the average piano owner about ET, they won't have a clue about what you are talking about. Just make it sound right. And that was just a little inside joke which Bill made. Or outside joke depending on your perspective. regards, Jon Ppage At 12:45 PM 6/6/2002 -0600, you wrote: >Hi Bill, > >No, it is not a joke list--inspite of your great efforts to make it so. > >And yes the client has a right to know what is being done to their >piano--before work begins.
