At any rate, the question was: Does anyone on this list see doping =
a new instrument as an appropriate repair for a NEW piano that will not =
hold a tune? Thanks

    + + +

Normally NO. I'm not being absolute here because there is often =
room for exceptions, and this is one of them. A quick peek at Larry =
Fine's book revealed that the warranty terms cover materials only with =
nothing towards the labor. Given that these are such low-level pianos, =
it makes financial sense that the labor be kept to a minimum.=20

Now the question is, what will the pinblock be doped with? Pin-Tite =
or a related product? Or CA glue for a more technically-correct =
approach? Will you be in a position to discuss this with the far-away =
technician being sent by the dealer?
