8. I just returned from the vacation of a lifetime and I have no money left
for the convention...this year.

9. My daughter graduated from college this year and I had to supply her with
some 'getting going' funds.

9a. I gave money to my son so he could buy a car.

10. ..otherwise, I'd be there.
